About Coding Ali

Coding Ali serves as a platform to inspire, innovate, share wisdom, and give a voice to those within the tech industry.

Created by Ali Andrews, the impetus for Coding Ali came from the need to break through the current barriers and stigmas in tech, in a bid to close the gender gap and change the image preconceived concept of what a programmer looks. As a woman in tech herself, she felt there was a real need for a platform like this to help break through the barriers and stigmas in the industry today. Ali’s vision is to utilize the power of technology, and bring women together in a bid to shape their future and democratise the world. Creative Director – Sarah Jane Kavali says she quickly recognised Ali as a rising talent as she “has an ability to connect people from seemingly disparate worlds who wouldn’t otherwise collide,” says Kavali. Ali exerts an intellectual curiosity well beyond her years. And it’s that curiosity which helps her stand out as she continues to drive forward to create change for all in the tech industry.

“I hope you’ll join us and make sure every girl has the chance to change her world – our world – for the better”

Ali Andrews

Startup Founder. Mentor. Women in STEM Advocate. Creator of Coding Ali.

Coding Ali is a platform that seeks to highlight technology and champion female leaders in the tech industry by stimulating discussions on trending topics such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and VR animation. Coding Ali endeavors to show everyone, especially girls of all backgrounds that technology is a powerful tool for their economic and professional future.

Since its inception in the summer of 2017, the platform has reached more than 5,000 people and is set to maintain accelerated growth with Ali ambitious future goals and rigorous focus. The platform couldn’t be more timely given the current swell of advocacy where women are challenging and correcting entrenched power imbalances across gender, race and sexuality. Ali believes women are integral to future innovations saying ‘to truly innovate, we cannot leave behind half of our population’. No country can reach its full potential unless it embraces the skills, talents, energy, intellect and ideas of the 50-percent of the population that is female. It is neither practical nor just for women’s voices to go un-heard at the highest levels of decision making.

Recently named ambassador for BWM NZ, as well as being asked to travel to NASA Jet propulsion lab in LA earlier this year, Ali’s tireless work continues to inspire, motivate and connect, through her growing influence and vision.
